2009 NHRA Pro Stock Series
Kurt Johnson and ACDelco: Two names synonymous in the drag racing circle with performance—and winning. Their historic relationship began in 1996 when, according to National Hot Rod Association Oct. 2003, ACDelco wanted a driver to promote its battery package. This resulted in Kurt driving the black and gold Delco Freedom Battery Firebird. Since then, Kurt has continually showed his prowess as a driver. As recently as May, 2008 at the O'Reilly Midwest NHRA Nationals in Madison, IL, Kurt set a career-best elapsed time of 6.581-seconds, bettering his 6.598-second mark from the day before, set in Reading in 2007. Entering the Madison race, Kurt's career-best elapsed time was 6.611-seconds, set in Reading in 2007. With his record-setting achievements and ACDelco on his side, Kurt has shown he has what it takes to keep the winning streak going strong.
